  • Claudia Cappelletti Releases New Song “Mine”

  • Italian singer-songwriter Claudia Cappelletti released a brand new song “Mine” along with a music video on June 9, 2023,

The song is the second single of 2023, following “Watching over You” released back in February.
The track is speaking on women's rights and the fight for equality.
It was written by Claudia Cappelletti and Andrew Michael Spedick. Produced by Ryan Hadlock.
The accompanying video was created by Cuk Studio.
“A song that was a real outburst and meeting of many feelings and topics: Love, Anger, Politics, Justice, Injustice, Pride, Rights, Life,” Claudia Cappelletti said of the song. “Even if it seems a topic of the most remote times, the topic of injustice against the female gender is unfortunately more current than we might even think... and this touches too many sore buttons inside me!”
She continued, “Having the great privilege of being able to say what I think when this is forbidden to an overwhelming majority of women, I wanted to create a truly powerful scream for what are our rights as women and as human beings!”
  • She added, “As I traveled as a singer around the world so many times I got to live in underdeveloped countries where many women and girls continue to experience discrimination because of their sex and gender. I can't deny the anger I felt for the injustice those women have to face in their everyday's life.”
The track showcases real speeches from politicians and girls around the world who talk about women rights, including Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai who said “I speak not for myself, but so those without a voice can be heard. Those who have fought for their rights. Their right to live in peace. Their right to be treated with dignity. Their right to equality of opportunity. Their right to be educated.”

  • She described the new song as the beginning of her new chapter. “I spent such a big part of my life singing other people's songs until I started to feel the need to tell my own story, my truth, my point of view about life. I grew up with a very low self esteem, I was bullied from a very young age to the point that I was judging negatively even a simple act like “writing my story” as it wasn't important enough or good enough to be told. Until I finally realized that my happiness was my own responsibility and that I couldn't wait for the world and the others to be perfect for me to be happy. I stopped comparing myself to the others, I started celebrating my uniqueness smiling at knowing that there is only one single ME in this world, with her unique amazing story.”
