  • Pacific Avenue Releases Debut Album “Flowers”

  • New South Wales-based rock band Pacific Avenue, consisting of Harry O'Brien (vocals/guitar), Jack Kay (bass), Dom Littrich (drums) and Ben Fryer (lead guitar), released their debut album “Flowers” on May 5, 2023 via BMG.

The album comprises 12-track, produced by Chris Collins, featuring the '60s and '70s sounds with basking in love and other life-affirming experiences.
The band said of the album, “To us, this album has defined our sound and encapsulated everything that we have been through from the beginning. Each song has a permanent marker in my memory as it takes me back to a time and place, and I hope that the listener can share this feeling. If there's anything we want people to take away from the record it's for you to feel included. That's really the whole point of Rock and Roll and why we're a band, so you can go to a show and be in a room full of people you don't know, yet still feel connected to everyone because you're all screaming the same words about falling in love, or moving to a new city, or getting caught in the rain, whatever it is. It's nothing that hasn't already been done before, but it's something we've wanted to be a part of for a long time.”
  • Harry O'Brien said, “I'm more proud of this record than anything I've been a part of in my life. With these songs came a lot of love, late nights, and loss of hearing. There are so many people to thank for influencing this album and helping us get it to where it is today, but for now, I'll just say thank you Jack, Ben, Dom, and Tom. You're my best friends and biggest inspirations, I love you all. To anyone who's reading, has ever listened to our music, or has come to a show, thank you for making this possible. Without you, we wouldn't be able to travel the world playing silly love songs and somehow be making something of it. We love you and hope you enjoy the album. Please do me a favor and listen to 'Wake Me Up.'”

Dom Littrich said, “When I listen back to Flowers, I couldn't be prouder to say that this is an album we created with our best mates.
Creating this album has been such a beautiful process working together with Chris, jack and the boys. To me this album has defined our sound and encapsulated everything that we have been through from the beginning. Each song has a permanent marker in my memory as it takes me back to a time and place, and I hope that the listener can share this feeling. For me, 'Flowers' sums up our whole history as a band, and each song teleports me to a special time and place. Creating this album was the most magical experience working alongside Chris Collins and jack nigro in the most beautiful settings with the most beautiful mates. I'm so proud of this body of work as I feel it has defined our sound and placed a little piece of each band member throughout. I'd like to thank my family and friends for supporting us 100% since the early days, enabling us to be creative and to share this with you. Big shoutout to jack, harry, Ben and Tom for being on this journey, and I hope Flowers takes you on a special journey of your own.”

  • Jack Kay said, “Our debut album flowers means more to me than I can describe. The tracks were written over the past two years and encapsulate the sound that we hope people will know pacific avenue as. There are so many people to thank for this body of work. Firstly, Working with Chris Collins on this record was a dream. The man is some sort of magician. Secondly, my Friends, Family and Manager Tom. These beautiful people have believed in us from the start and helped me believe in myself. Most importantly, I'd love thank my brothers; Harry, Ben and Dom. I definitely wouldn't be living out my life dreams without these boys by my side. We all drive each other crazy at times but I wouldn't want to be sharing this life with anyone else!!!! I hope everyone will love this album as much as I do.”

Ben Fryer said, “Words on the album from our beautiful birthday boy. It's been almost two years in the making and stretched across five recording studios but couldn't be more exited to share this body of work with the world! It's been a huge collaborative effort from everyone and couldnt be prouder of what we've achieved. I'd love to give a special shout out to Chris Collins, without him this all wouldn't have been possible, and an extra special shout out to our beautiful manager Tom for looking after us after all these years.”

The band explained about some tracks for the album.

    “Spin Me Like Your Records”
“The main theme behind writing 'Spin Me Like Your Records' was to get a fun, upbeat track that we could dance around to and have as a really nice moment in our live set for festivals. We got to a point where we thought we'd finished the album and had a listening party with our label, publisher and management, and while we loved it, we all thought it could use some straight-up-and-down classic rock songs. So, we wrote our last single, 'Leaving For London', another album track, 'Modern Lovers' and finally this single, and I don't think the album would be the same without them. It's just another silly song about being hopelessly into someone.”

    “Easy Love”
“Whilst love can be an entirely complicated mess, it's also the easiest thing we do. Regardless of who you are, love is love, and that's what we hope to convey through the song and the video clip.”

    “Give It Up For Yourself”
“'Give It Up For Yourself' is a song that acknowledges and celebrates your life, everything that you are, and everything that you have overcome. This song is about giving yourself some credit because if the younger version of yourself could see you today, I'm sure you would be proud.”

    “Leaving For London”
“Leaving For London is about loving and wanting to be with someone, but at the same time ensuring you're doing what's best for them, and understanding what makes them happiest, even if that means not being able to be with them. It's about doing your best at supporting who you love, to become who they want to be.”
