Canadian singer-songwriter Shania Twain released a new song “Giddy Up!” on January 5, 2023.
The song is the the third single off of her upcoming sixth studio album “Queen of Me”, following “Waking Up Dreaming” and “Last Day of Summer”.
The track was written by Shania Twain, David Stewart, RØMANS and Jessica Agombar. Produced by David Stewart.
Shania Twain said of the song, “The saying 'Let's go, girls!' (the first line of 'Man! I Feel Like A Woman') is such a wonderfully uplifting sentiment now, but it's just something I said during the recording in the studio and I guess that's the same for Giddy Up! These lines come to me when I'm thinking about how to put a little pep in my step. I want people to feel good when they hear the new album. I want to set a celebratory tone, and Giddy Up! is a way to call to the audience and say. 'Let's get ready for some fun!' ”
Also she shares on social media, “I am here with some news that will put a spring in your step, a bounce in your heart... some up in your giddy! My new song 'Giddy Up!'. The new album is set to be released on February 3, 2023 via Republic Records. It is her first album in six years since the 2017 the album “Now”.
The album comprises 12-track. She said, “For me, the track order is as important as the music itself. Just like the music, it takes you on a journey and it's gotta be just right! And as a homage to my roots... I had to add a little punctuation in there.”
She said of the album, “The reaction has been incredible. To be declared an icon is just... surreal, humbling... empowering! I feel empowered! I wanted my performance to reflect that and celebrate… myself, not in an egotistical way, but in celebrating my power, of walking my own path, of being brave! This industry is intimidating! Life generally can be intimidating - You just gotta stay strong and always remember your power. I've carried that message through my whole working life and I sure ain't stopping now!!
