Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Black Honey Premieres New Song “Heavy” on BBC Radio 1
British alt-rock band Black Honey, consisting of Izzy Phillips (vocals/guitar), Chris Ostler (guitar), Tommy Taylor (bass) and Alex Woodward (drums), premiered a new song “Heavy” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is the third single off of their upcoming third album “Feminism And Gardening”, following “Out Of My Mind” and Charlie Bronson”.
It was written by Isobel Phillips, Christopher Ostler, Thomas Taylor, Alexander Woodward and William Bloomfield. Produced by Dimitri Tikovoi.
The accompanying music video was directed by Dakota Shiffer.
Izzy Phillips told Clara Amfo about the song, “This is a new song heavy the song is about being an absolute pit of depression and not really knowing how to call myself back out. It's kind of making a parallel between the climate of my mind my mental illness and also grief and how that affected me. Thank you so much for the spin. This is heavy enjoy.”
