Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Samia Releases New Song “Mad At Me”
American singer-songwriter Samia Finnerty, aka Samia released a new song “Mad At Me” on November 1, 2022.
The song is the second single off of her upcoming sophomore album “Honey”, following “Kill Her Freak Out”.
It was written by Samia Finnerty, Charlie Hickey, Papa Mbye and Rostam Batmanglij. Produced by Rostam Batmanglij and Caleb Wright.
The accompanying music video was directed by Samia herself and Muriel Knudson.
Samia said of the song, “The lyrics for ‘Mad At Me’ came from a poem I’d written about imagining what it’d be like to stop caring about what anyone was thinking. I was cosplaying a position that I haven’t experienced – which is of literally any confidence in my point of view. In the video, we tried to embody that character – a bunch of girls having a good time in spite of it all. It is a big lie. I wrote it with Rostam Batmanglij on the day we met. Such an honor to have Papa Mbye on it!!”
