Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Soft Set Releases New Song “Diamond”
Toronto-based alt-rock duo Soft Set, consisting of James Gray and Nathan Athay, released a new song “Diamond” along with a music video on June 24, 2022.
The song is the second single off of their upcoming debut album “Still Life”, following “More More More”.
It was written and produced by Soft Set, who recorded it at e5 Studios, Toronto Canada. The accompanying video was directed by Heidi Athay.
The track was inspired by a true crime podcast. “We heard of this story of a boy who killed his mother and then himself in Jefferson Township, NJ, in the late 80s and the whole story was just so bizarre,” James Gray said of rthe song. “He seemed to be a good kid and all of that changed within a matter of months leading up to the tragic night when everything changed. It's a fascinating story and there's a great podcast called 'The Devil Within' that explores what happened and what possibly drove this boy to do what he did. Check it out!”
