Marshmello & Khalid Team Up for New Song “Numb”
- American DJ Marshmello and American singer-songwriter Khalid teamed up again to release a new song “Numb” on June 10, 2022.
It is their first collaboration in five years since 2017 single “Silence”.
The song is alternative dance instrumental unlike previous collaboration, which was influence by R&B.
Marshmello first teased the song on TikTok on May 21, 2022,
The track was written by Digital Farm Animals, Khalid, Aldae, Marshmello, Richard Boardman and Pablo Bowman.
Produced by Digital Farm Animals and Marshmello. The accompanying music video was directed by Christian Breslauer.
“Me and Khalid always talked about doing another song, so I sent this idea to him and he loved it,” Marshmello said of the song in a statement. “I was super happy when I asked him if he wanted to do the song and he said yes because the song is a little different vibe for him, but I knew he would crush it. He sent it to me the next day and I immediately knew we had one with this.”
“Mello and I have a great friendship, and when we get together to make music, it’s always great vibes,” Khalid added. “’Silence’ is a fan favorite that I love performing, so continuing our collaborations with ‘Numb’ is something that I’m looking forward to.”
For Marshmello, the song follows up "Estilazo" with Dominican rapper Tokischa, which was released back in April.
While, Khalid will release his upcoming third studio album “Everything Is Changing” this year. From the album, he premiered “Skyline” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo in April.
