Australian singer-songwriter Ziggy Alberts teamed up with Canadian folk singer-songwriter Donovan Woods to release a new song “THE SUN & THE SEA” along with a music video.
This marks the fist collaboration between Ziggy Alberts and Donovan Woods.
It was written by Ziggy Alberts and Donovan Woods. Produced by Yama-Nui. The accompanying video was directed by Josh Weier.
Ziggy Alberts said, “When I started writing this song, it had tinges of Donovan's delivery - I made a mental note and didn't think much of it. A little while later I put one of his songs on my personal playlist, and as a result, we got chatting. Next thing you know I sent him the track to potentially work on together.”
He continued, “From the first time I heard him sing 'we want to be famous' I was blown away. The song had reached a whole new level. It felt that this was how the song was meant to be all along. Even more than usual, Yama-Nui & Steve Summers helped bring this song to life Yama-Nui as I was amidst many phone calls at the studio while helping with the floods. Donovan Woods said, “The thing that struck me about Ziggy's songs when I first heard them was their honest open-ended-ness. Full of wonder without the pretence of all the answers. It's as though you're getting to hear him figure them out, as though you're a part of it too. It's beautiful. So when he sent me this song and the line “We're still figuring out…” was right there in it, I felt like I understood the sentiment. It was a joy to work with him on it. I love the sparseness and directness of it. It makes me feel the way Ziggy's songs make me feel, so I'm into it.”-
