Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Chloe Lilac released a new mixtape “you were good to me” along with a new music video for “lily's backyard” on April 29, 2022.
The mixtape follows up the 2021 mixtape “when i feel better” and comprises 4-track.
Chloe Lilac said of the mixtape, “This mixtape is all about losing the people you love most. Whether that's losing a best friend, losing a romantic partner, or losing yourself. It can be hard to let go when people come in and out of your life, you could feel betrayed, you could feel heartbreak, you could feel anger, but at the end of the day, it all comes back to love.”
The new music video was directed by Ragan Henderson.- Chloe Lilac explained track-by-track for the mixtape.

“'lily's backyard' is about a betrayal of a friendship I had. It's about this moment that happened in Lily's backyard where I knew the friendship was over.”

“how does your girlfriend feel about it is about when someone i was involved with was dishonest. i wanted to write a silly song about it to shed light on a disappointing situation.”
“last week”
“I wrote last week about watching a friend mourn a loss of someone who was very close to them, wanting to help but not knowing what to do.”
“only love song”
“'only love song' is a love letter to my younger self. It's about losing myself in adolescence, and how damaging that was.” -
