WSL Women's Championship, Roxy Pro France ran Round 3-4 and the Quarterfinals at La Gravière in France in four-to-five foot perfect waves on October 8, 2017.
3-time World Champ Carissa Moore (HAW) and 6-time World Champ Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) competed in between Round 3 and the Quarterfinals.
Stephanie Gilmore took narrow victory in Round 3, but she struggled to get good wave in Quarterfinal. Meanwhile, Carissa Moore earned 6.50 points on the first wave in the Quarterfinal, followed by she gained 7.03 and 9.10 points a with total of 16.13. Stephanie Gilmore received 7.67 points on last wave, but it was not enough to win, eventually Carissa Moore advanced to the Semifinals.
The Jeep Leader Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) defeated Keely Andrew (AUS) and Silvana Lima (BRA) in Round 3 and battled against Bianca Buitendag (ZAF) in the Quarterfinal. Sally Fitzgibbons gained 7.50 points in the beginning and led the Heat, but Bianca Buitendag chased her with 8.67 high score. Finally, Sally Fitzgibbons advanced to the Semifinals after surviving back-to-back tough matchups.
Lakey Peterson (USA) and Courtney Conlogue (USA) competed in Round 3 and the Quarterfinal each other. Both Heats were close games, but Lakey Peterson received 7.83 points with Air 360-degree in the Quarterfinal and eliminated Courtney Conlogue.
Reigning Champ Tyler Wright (AUS) defeated Johanne Defay (FRA), Bronte Macaulay (AUS) and Malia Manuel (HAW) in Round 3 and the Quarterfinal, despite she injured her right knee. She advanced to the Semifinals.- Roxy Pro Round 3 Results:
