Kelly Slater Wave Co revealed the new video for his wave pool the Surf Ranch, where Hawaiian surfer Bethany Hamilton surfed on left waves.
She is best known as a model for film "Soul Surfer", which was directed by Sean McNamara, starring AnnaSophia Robb, Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, and Lorraine Nicholson. The film was released in 2011.
She lost her arm to a shark at the age of 13. But even now, she has continued to surf as a professional surfer.
This time, she surfed at the Surf Ranch with her husband Adam and son Tobias following Gerry Lopez. Of course she was pretty stoked, too.
"It's actually like a dream because I've wanted to work on my backside barrel riding, and today I got more backside barrels in one session than I have ever," Hamilton said afterward.- Also, she tried to surf with backhand, Kelly Slater couldn't help but marvel at Bethany's tube technique.
"An athletic feat that not any other person on earth has. She doesn't have the ability to grab the rail. It just blew me away. I think it's incredible," he described.
Bethany Hamilton added, "It makes you just giggle and giddy!. My mind has just been spinning with, like, how so many surfers are going to just see and be inspired to push their surfing by surfing this wave.
