Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Red Tan Releases New Song “Don't You Dare”
London-based Filipina singer-songwriter Red Tan has unveiled a new song “Don't You Dare” via streaming music services.
She worked with Luke Adams for the song. She has already shot the music video in Central London, directed by Loraa White, which will be released in August.
Red Tan said of the song in an interview with Vents Magazine, “Being alone in an unfamiliar environment inspired me to write about my strength and confidence. I’m a young widow and single mom. Depression and anxiety hit me and has been a challenge but putting it to writing (and singing) strengthened my coping skills. “Don’t You Dare!” aims to inspire everyone to use the challenges, failures, criticisms, rejections and even mental health setbacks as stepping stones to rise up and do more to achieve their goals. That’s exactly what I did and I thank these circumstances for helping me become a stronger and better person.”- She added, “I wrote it in a small Airbnb apartment in Southampton, UK and recorded it with Luke Adams (@stlunamusic) at River Studios, which is also located in Southampton. Writing alone in a place unfamiliar to me was a bit challenging at the same time helpful. When you are in situations like that, you become stronger and it’ll reflect on your lyrics. The recording was a fun learning experience. You get to know amazing and talented people.”
