Ingrid Michaelson Releases New Album “Stranger Songs”: Streaming
- Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson released her ninth studio album “Stranger Songs” on June 28th.
The album is inspired by Netflix television series “Stranger Things”.
“There’s something about Stranger Things that’s really comforting, it brings me back to my childhood. It’s the best kind of escapism and I find myself seeking that now more than ever,” Michaelson Releases said in a statement. “I took inspiration from the show and the characters and all these ideas started to come to me. Every song on the record includes a reference from the show, some more specific than others, but all of the themes are universal.”
The album features '80s vibe sound. "The music of the 80s is so rich, sonically. The writers, producers and I were like kids in a candy store," she said. "The show takes place deep in the 80s when a lot of those '80s' sounds were being born."
After the release of the album, she dropped a new music video for “Missing You” directed by Daniel Carberry. The song was released as the first single off back in May.
