Marshmello & Bastille Perform “Happier” and “Eastside” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
- American EDM producer Marshmello and British rock band Bastille appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, where they performed “Happier” and covered “Eastside” of Benny Blanco.
“Happier” was released back in August by Marshmello and Bastille. It was written by Steve Mac, Marshmello and Dan Smith.
Marshmello said of the song, "When Bastille sent me Happier for the first time, I was taken back. The amount of emotion that you could feel in the lyrics was crazy. As I listened to the song more and more, it reminded me of so many things I’ve been through in my life. Toxic relationships, letting go of things I didn’t want to, and just situations where happiness came with a sacrifice. Recently I lost my best friend, my companion, and my life long friend. I wanted this video to embrace the pain that we feel losing or sacrificing something and the cycle of life that comes with it. I hope this song and video can bring closure in any situation you may be and make us all happie"
“Eastside” was released by American music producer Benny Blanco. The original version features American singers Halsey and Khalid.
The song was premiered on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show on July 12. The track reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart.
Benny Blanco co-wrote the song with Happy Perez, Khalid, Halsey and Ed Sheeran.
