Australian singer-songwriter Troye Sivan contributed a new song “Revelation” to upcoming the film "BOY ERASED".
He worked with Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi for the song. It was written by Jónsi, Troye Sivan and Leland.
"BOY ERASED" is based on Garrard Conley's 2016 memoir of the same name. The film is the true story of one young man’s struggle to find himself while being forced to question every aspect of his identity.
Directed by Joel Edgerton, starring Lucas Hedges, Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe. Also, Troye Sivan appeared on the film, who plays Gary, another young man sent to be “cleansed” of his homosexuality.
The film will hit theatres on November 2nd.
The song is inspired from a scene in the film in where the protagonist has a pure interaction with another boy for the first time.
Troye Sivan said, "God doesn’t strike him down and the world doesn’t fall apart. And maybe he even kind of enjoys it, and maybe it feels right for the first time. The idea of that person being a revelation in your life, where you can kind of do something that feels so natural and so right and be fine on the other side, that was a really potent thing in my head."- rwCnYFAEeSg
