ENNY Drops New Music Video for “Keisha's & Brenda's”
British rapper ENNY released her long-awaited debut EP “Under Twenty Five” on July 16. 2021.
The EP comprises of 7-track, featuring guest appearance from KinKai. Produced by Paya, Casper Miles, Joe Beard, Miles Casper and stc.
From the EP, she dropped a new music video for “Keisha's & Brenda's”.
The track was written by ENNY and Paya. The video was directed by KC Locke and ENNY herself.
ENNY explained of the song, “I wrote Keisha's and Brenda's back in 2018 during a time where many industry professionals were beginning to get exposed for indecent behaviour with women. It wasn't a topic I was unfamiliar with. It was another reminder of the world we live in. And at this point I was annoyed because it felt like there was nothing else I could do but be angry. Angry for the victims, angry that people have to carry the weight of something so traumatic with no absolution.”
She added, “The last year or so has started to feel like a turning point. Women are speaking up, people are coming forward and telling their stories more freely, there's a championing behind one another and I wanted the video to reflect that. You don't have to be silenced. Speaking your truth is sometimes the first step. Taking back ownership of your voice. Taking off the tape.”- p5sa9GVhPjo
ENNY shared about EP on social media, “I was 23 when I had the idea for this EP. I realised I couldn't do this 9-5 office thing for the rest of my life I wanted to create. Initially it was just gonna be a bag of YouTube beats I leased cause I didn't know any producers. But a few months later I'd get a DM from some random producer in east London that would change everything .
The story behind the last two years is a bizarre but you've witnessed a lot of it. God dropped a real one at the right exact moment.. The time gone into creating these songs have been the greatest moments of my life so far.
The quality of the music and this journey wouldn't have been possible with out you G Paya And I literally meannnn putting in HOURSsssss to make sure every stem of every track was to the best standard even at just demos.
