Dido Premieres New Song “Friends”
British singer-songwriter Dido has released a new song “Friends” following previous song "Hurricanes".
The song is the second single off her upcoming fifth studio album “Still on My Mind”. It was written by Ryan Laubscher and Dido.
The new album is scheduled for release on March 8, 2019. It is her first LP in six years. Produced by her brother Rollo Armstrong, Brian Eno and Ryan Louder.
Last week, she recorded a few acoustic versions of songs from the album and her past songs.
Also she shot the music video for the next single "Give You Up” in London. "Give You Up” and acoustic version songs will be released shortly.
Dido will embark on European and North American tour in support of the album in 2019. The tour kicks off at Forum Karlín in Praha on May 5, 2019.
“Yeah, there were a lot of questions along the lines of: ‘Where have you been?’” she told Evening Standard. “But it’s just the right time to do it. The third album, Safe Trip Home, was not an album to tour — I love it but it’s a bit dark. The fourth album wasn’t the right time. But as a writer you can only leave it so long before you want to engage with the people who listen to your music — that then inspires you and you keep writing. So I just found myself saying yes.”
