Lisa Ploeger Returns With New Song “I Blame Myself”
Dutch singer-songwriter Lisa Ploeger returned with a new song “I Blame Myself” on January 5, 2024.
It is her first music in two years since the 2022 debut EP “Dear Diary”.
The song is the first single off of her upcoming sophomore EP, which is expected to be released this summer.
The track was written by Geosy Kleefman, Ivo Severijns, and Lisa Ploeger. Produced by Rowdy Prins.
The accompanying music video was directed by Robert Schepers and Cynthia Vos.
Lisa Ploeger said of the song, “It's a very personal one about not being able to sit still and take some time to reflect and rest. In today's world it can be very hard not be become overworked. There is so much social pressure. Everybody wants to keep up with what they see on social media or with people around them. This song tells you to slow down and take time for yourself. You can't always run a marathon.”- She added, “This one's so very special to me. It's a song about overworking and finding your rest again. Maybe it's something you recognize in yourself or the people around you. Just know you're not alone and this song is here to comfort and motivate you.”
The new EP comprises a 6-track, where she worked with Ocki Klootwijk.
Lisa Ploeger told 3for12 about the EP, “This new EP is a little more personal, with more personal stories. But also recognizable stories for other people. The EP was recorded at the RockTown studios in Rotterdam under the direction of Ocki Klootwijk . Ivo had good contact with him, so you can get in faster.” -
