Jade LeMac Releases New EP “Confessions”
Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Jade LeMac released her sophomore EP “Confessions” on November 3, 2023.
She released the EP just nine month later since the debut EP “Constellations”, which was released back in February.
The EP comprises 6-track, produce by Jason “JVP” Van Poederooyen.
Jade LeMac said of the EP, “The songs on 'Confessions' are exactly that - a collection of songs that all carry some sort of intense feelings that have to make themselves known or just fess up to. It feels like a perfect follow up to my last EP 'Constellations' and is darker and more lustful. We had so much fun creating this EP and I am so grateful and excited to share it with everyone.”
- Jade LeMac explained about some tracks for the EP.
“'Grapevines' is one of the more fun songs I've written. I remember being in the studio and seeing a vine, then thinking about the word 'grapevines' – and how cool and unique it would be to use that in a song. So I decided to base this whole song off of that one word. Naturally, it led me to think about being fed grapes (like how you used to see in the movies), and drinking wine (because that's obviously made out of grapes), then it slowly became a metaphor for craving someone the way you would crave a glass of wine – or grapes. Sweet, a little bitter, but makes you feel happy. That's how this song was born.”
“Got Me Obsessed”
“'Got Me Obsessed' is about the excitement of beginning a new relationship, and all the intense emotions that come along with it. Every single thought is consumed by them and there isn't anything or anyone you crave more. I wrote this in that time of a new relationship and it felt so overwhelming and exciting I wanted to convey that intensity in a song.”
“You're Not A God”
“'You're Not A God' is for that one person who thinks they're better than everyone. We all know the type! It's an anthem for the underdogs, and a big middle finger to those who think they can push people around. The 'You're Not A God' video was SO much fun to film. One of my favorite parts of this experience was putting together the outfits. I wanted it to compliment the simplicity of the black/white/and red lighting. There's some snippets in this video of me singing with all the chords scattered on the ground as well. I love that setting - it felt so cinematic!”
“Steal My Skin”
“This may be the saddest song ever written.”
