Eleanor Releases New Song “Former Friend”
Canadian R&B singer-songwriter Eleanor Gebrou, aka Eleanor released a new song “Former Friend” from her upcoming debut EP “A Late Bloom” on August 4, 2023.
The song is using thoughtful lyrics and lush composition to juxtapose the feeling of sweet bliss that envelops you as you lean into the hope of new love and the barrenness that is left when that love is lost.
The track was written by Eleanor Gebrou, John Fellner, and Aidan Wasse.
“Emotional intimacy requires surrender and interpersonal faith. When a relationship is unsuccessful, it can cause folks to break faith with themselves,” Eleanor said of the song. “My new single, 'Former Friend,' explores the idea of feeling incompetent in the wake of personal tragedy. Oftentimes we're not just mourning the relationships that we lose, but our sense of competence at having participated in something that may have been toxic, and ultimately failed.”
