MASUMI Premieres New Music Video for “Run Baby, Run”
- Los Angeles-based Japanese alt-pop singer-songwriter Masumi Tsunoda, aka MASUMI unveiled a new music video for “Run Baby, Run” directed by Loic Zimmermann.
The song is her second single of the 2018, following the previously released song "Cycling Trivialities". Produced by Mark Fazio.
The song touches on the duality of life, the dark against the light and the light within the dark.
MASUMI said of the song;
"In 2016, I received a life changing offer to be managed by a prestigious management team in Tokyo, Japan. I decided to walk away from this career-defining moment and chose to remain in the states to explore possibilities that were more aligned with the artist I wanted to grow into. But that brought a long depression and self doubt. I was confused if I made the right choice. A stranger popped in my life during that time and left me a message to “live with urgency” because “time is running out”. It was my 2nd awakening since the earthquake"
- MASUMI moved to Los Angeles from Japan and attended the Los Angeles Music Academy in 2011.
In 2014, she released three singles "You're Lyin'", "Sinking Boat" and "Water to My Body". Followed by, the third single "Dear Friend" was released in 2016.
She signed to Amuse in 2017 and appeared on the music videos of several artists the likes of Justin Timberlake, Bishop Briggs and SketchShe.
