Vaness Alegacy Releases New Song “You Get Me”
- Toronto-based singer-songwriter Vaness Alegacy released a new song “You Get Me” on April 16, 2021.
The track was written by Vaness Alegacy and produced by Giordan Postorino and Juwayon Clarke. It is smooth R&B and electrifying classic rock.
“We all have a side of us that we soften and make more palatable for others. This song is a rebellion against that habit,” Vaness Alegacy explained. “My new single “You Get Me” is about being loud, larger than life, and truthful to oneself. And being stupidly loved because of it all, not in spite of it. ”
She continued, “'You Get Me' is in celebration of us multidimensional women, and a tip of the hat to those that embrace us. Typically I write from experience, but this song was conjured by my idea of the perfect partner. I haven't met this person yet, but they can use “You Get Me” as a blueprint. The smallest acts of affection can have the biggest impact. It's not about the big gestures, it's about the care and attention it takes to know how someone takes their coffee every morning.”
- The song is her first single since the 2017 song “Hoping & Waiting”.
Vaness Alegacy shared on social media, “It's been a while since I have released music, I can't believe it's happening. To be quite honest, I almost didn't go through with it, “will anyone like it?” “Will it do well?” “Nah forget it. Put it back where it's safe, locked up for only me to appreciate” I'd like say that had this life changing moment where the heavens opened up and gave me this sign that it was the right time. But that didn't happen. I just realized, I really like the music I make so I just went for it and maybe someone out there will like it too.”
