  • Rose Gray Announces Debut Album “Louder, Please”, Premieres New Song “Switch” on BBC Radio 1

  • London-based singer-songwriter Rose Gray has announced her debut album “Louder, Please” will be released on January 17, 2024 via Play It Again Sam.

From the album, she premiered a new song “Switch” on BBC Radio 1's Future Pop with Mollie King.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Angel Of Satisfaction” and “Free”.
It was written by Justin Tranter, Rose Gray, and Sam Homaee who also produced the track.
The accompanying music video was directed by Vasso Vu.

Rose Gray said of the song, “Switching things up is hot and we don’t talk about it enough. Why must we be defined as one role in a relationship or personality type?”.

She added, “It's about letting a relationship when you kind of want to switch up the roles you want to keep things excited. You would the dominant one, and then sometimes you're the most submissive and be translated into relationships, but almost like, your personality as well, more than it feels.”
  • The album comprises a 12-track, produced by Ryland Blackinton, Vaughn Oliver, Zhone, and Sam Homaee.
Rose Gray said of the album, “The album title was born on the mic, a running joke where I was always asking for things to be louder (please). I’ve spent ten years writing for myself and others, exploring different cities and their parties - but I’ve always known that I was working towards a body of work that brought all that together, and represented all sides of me. There’s definitely something in my personality which loves the adventure, and is always searching for more: I’ve also had my heart broken, fallen back in love, and become a woman in the process. To me, Louder, Please captures the rave, the ethereal, my friends and our stories: it’s classic pop with its roots firmly in the underground. On a beach or in a club, I want these songs to find their homes in someone else’s life. So enjoy – but make sure you play it LOUD, please?”

  • She shared on social media, “If you know me personally you will understand the labour of love it's taken to get to this place. I've been making music for 10 years. I'm very proud of this record, she's an amalgamation of everything I love. I've always been fascinated by pop music so yes she's pop, she's electro she's emotive and she's unapologetically me (and yes she's a she) My best mate who I wrote my first release about (good life) said it's underground pop. I feel this describes the album so perfectly.”
