Matt-Felix Releases New Song “1917”
London-based singer-songwriter Matt-Felix released the second single called “1917” on February 28, 2024.
The song is the follow-up to the debut song “Leave, Just To Stay”, which was released back in January.
It was written and produced by Matt-Felix Woods, with production by Matt Jones, and Adam Warrington.
The accompanying music video was directed by Max Rollason and Sophia French.
Matt-Felix said of te song, “'1917' was a definite 'breakthrough' moment for me as a songwriter. It seemed to have opened so many different doors for me. I wrote it about two years ago while reading George Orwell's 1984. What the relevance is lyrically, I have no idea, but it makes some sort of sense to me. I imagined the character living in that world. The chords/rhythm came first, which I wrote on my friend's piano. I didn't think much of it for six months and then came back to it and wrote all the lyrics. I'm definitely playing some kind of character when I sing it.”- Photo by Sophia French
