  • Zoe Wees Releases Debut Album “Therapy”

  • German singer-songwriter Zoe Wees released her debut album “Therapy” on November 3, 2023.

The album comprises 20-track, including 3 songs of the debut EP “Golden Wings”, featuring a guest appearance from American rapper 6LACK.
Produced by Burek, Leon Milla, Nicolas Rebscher, Patrick Salmy and Ricardo Muñoz Repko.
“This record has been a long time in the making, and I have found writing it to be such a healing experience,” Zoe Wees said of the album. “I wanted Therapy to be a musical journey that explores the path to healing through my own experiences. These songs are my way of processing anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and the traumas I endured as a child. Music has been my therapy, and I hope this album can be a source of comfort and strength for others.”
  • Zoe Wees explained about some tracks for the album.

    “Sorry For The Drama”
“In 'Sorry for the Drama', I reflect on a past where I longed for what I didn't have, chasing after illusions of wealth and status. It's a heartfelt apology to my mom and a crucial part of my therapeutic journey, where I confront and make peace with my history. This song represents a deep understanding that genuine riches lie in love and resilience, not material possessions. It's a journey back to my roots, cherishing life's simple moments while recognizing the power of self-reflection and healing.”

    “Lightning”
“For me, 'Lightning' is about pushing through all the doubt you get from those people who try to knock you down and underestimate you. When I've pushed through it all, I've found motivation that's made me even stronger. Don't ever doubt how powerful you can be.”

  • “Girls Like Us”
“For me, it was the hardest feeling to grow up in a world that you feel doesn't accept you. We all have insecurities, but this is what makes us beautiful.
We're walking through a world with blinded eyes, at the end of the day we all go to bed without make-up with the ugliest clothes and wake up with the messiest hair on earth.
It's not always good to think about how you look to the rest of the world. It's much more important to think about how you feel inside. It is not easy to call yourself beautiful but being confident helps you to accept and love yourself.”

    “Control”
“The sickness (childhood epilepsy) was stronger than me, and left scars that have become part of my life. Accepting them has taken so much time, but they make me what I am today: a fighter.”

    “Daddy's Eyes”
“My dad was never there for my mom and me. I met him once in my life and realized that my eyes look just like his. I don't wanna cry these tears with my Daddy's Eyes. I don't need you , daddy!
It took a lot for me to finally share this story with you all. This song is for anyone who grew up without a father figure in their life.”

“That's How It Goes” featuring 6LACK
“This is probably the most exciting part of my life ever. I loved working with 6lack. Knowing that 6lack was working really hard until he became who he is now, inspired me on a different level. The way he appreciated the whole team and our new song is so lovely to see. He has one of the most beautiful souls. And I'm on fire performing this one with him.”

    “Don't Give Up”
“Sometimes the weight of the world feels too heavy to bear and most of the time giving up seems like the easiest way. This song is a reminder to me that this is not an option and that I've got the power to overcome anything that comes my way. You're stronger than you think and you're never alone. And even when the world turns upside down, never give up.”

    “Third Wheel”
“'Third Wheel', it's so painful to be the fifth wheel in a relationship. The song goes back to a really hard time in my life. I hope that people with similar experiences will realize that they have grown from them.”

“Hold Me Like You Used To”
“This is a song about losing someone you really love and feel close to. It's dedicated to my great grandmother, who sadly passed away. She was such a strong woman and the funniest person I knew, and I can still feel her great energy. She is my inspiration and I know she is still here.”
