Tim Young Releases New Song “Supernova”
New York-based singer-songwriter Tim Young released the third single called “Supernova” on August 4, 2023.
He wrote the song 8 years ago and first performed at Paste Magazine's Paste Studio in New York City in 2019.
The track narrates the story of a relationship from its conception to its demise.
Tim Young said of the song, “I had one of those relationships that burned hot and fast, breaking up and getting back together over and over again, until it ultimately imploded on itself. He used to own a flower shop, and one day while we were walking around the city, he pointed out a bouquet of Supernovas. That word stuck in my head; it felt like us. A supernova is the death of a star, an explosion creating one of the most brilliant, brightest events in the universe, leaving behind a husk, a monument to what once was.”- The relationship left a big scar on the artist, resulting in him having to overcome a lot of hurdles to finally be able to finish it.
He continued, “This song was so important to me, it became this giant that I couldn't tackle, and with every year that passed by, it only got bigger, more imposing. To release it now is the most indescribable feeling. The most amazing part: Supernova still sounds and feels as alive and timely as the day I wrote it. It's perennial. It's universal. It's out of my hands.” -
Tim Young shared on social media, “I wrote this song 8 years ago, and it has taken that long to get to a place where I felt ready to release it. It's from a very painful, confusing time in my life; a break up that broke me. This song helped me to move on, to grow, to accept the beauty with the pain.
