  • Dermot Kennedy Premieres New Song “Don't Forget Me” on BBC Radio 1

  • Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy premiered a new song “Don't Forget Me” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.

The song is featured on the 2023 version of his sophomore album “Sonder”.
The album “Sonder (2023)” comprises 12-track, including the previous 11-track and the new track “Don't Forget Me”.
Also, the song follows up the collaborative song “Won’t Back Down” with YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Bailey Zimmerman, which is included on American action film “Fast X” soundtrack released in May.
The track was written by Dermot Kennedy and Steve Mac. Produced by Steve Mac and PRGRSHN.
Dermot Kennedy told Clara Amfo about the song, “I think as well even say if it doesn't work out, like no relationship is a waste. Like nothing is a waste of time because everything influences you are and how you feel and forward. And so I just it's a scary idea that you could be vulnerable with somebody and ultimately be forgotten.”
  • He continued, “I think like, I really enjoy writing songs from the perspective of somebody else in my life and I think that's important, because if I'm the storyteller from my hometown, and from my circle of community, it's like it's lovely, because it's quite easy for me to take that on and feel it deeply.”
He added, “I think you're trying to just not become immune to it. Say for example, the other day when somebody's kind of like, 'oh, this person passed away' and I just about found the strength to come to the show or whatever, cause things like that. I get told them quite regularly if you try to really take that on and then when you're on stage, be conscious of the fact that they're in the crowd, but also, the battery is a real thing. You got to look after yourself as well.”
