Lava La Rue Premieres New Song “Renegade” on BBC Radio 1
London-based hip-hop singer-songwriter Lava La Rue premiered a new song “Renegade” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Sian Eleri.
The track was written byLava La Rue, Stolen Nova, and APOB who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by LAVALAND TV.
The song is their first music since the 2022 EP “Hi-Fidelity”.
Also, Lava La Rue first performed the song at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April.
Lava La Rue told Sian Eleri about the song, “I think that this song was it's just like a cross pollination of like, different sounds. It came out of a jam when I was in LA and we were making the song and I had like sampled this trip hop like song that I had written that's never gonna see the light of day but we flipped it and then I called up this like glam metal like, guitarist to like shred on the chorus and then went back to London and then got like a britpop drama to draw on it. So it's like, all these different genres kind of like merged into one to kind of like, make this I don't know a queer love rock and roll anthem, basically.”
- They continued, “This is the heaviest truck I've ever released on the Lava La Rue. I've definitely like jams on played in like bands like growing up like whether that's just as a bass or a guitar or a singer or whatever, where it's like you know, we've gone a bit heavy with it. But I think for this project that I'm in it probably to the audience sounds like the heaviest thing I've done.”
