Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Vagabon Returns With New Song “Carpenter”
Brooklyn-based Cameroonian-American singer-songwriter Laetitia Tamko, aka Vagabon returned with a new song “Carpenter” on January 12, 2023.
It is her first single in three and a half years since the 2019 self-titled album.
Also, the song will appear on her upcoming third studio album.
It was written by Jack Geoffrey McLaine and Laetitia Tamko. Produced by Rostam Batmanglij and Laetitia Tamko.
Vagabon said of the song, “'Carpenter' is about that humbling feeling when you desperately want to be knowledgeable, you want to be advanced, you want to be mature, forward thinking, and evolved. It's about being confronted with your limitations. It's about that A-HA moment, when a lesson from the past finally clicks and you want to run and tell someone who bore witness to the old you, 'i finally get it now.'”- Also she shared on social media, “My first song in 3 years. i wrote 'Carpenter' in my home studio a couple years ago. i'm so proud to offer it now. It's essentially about being confronted with your limitations, times when you wished you were more advanced, more ready.”
She embarks on her headline tour this spring. The tour kicks off at The Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, WI on March 13, 2023 and will conclude at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK on April 2, 2023.
