Sunshine Makers Returns With New Song “Got To Be Good” featuring Aquakultre
Toronto-based R&B band Sunshine Makers returned with a new song “Got To Be Good” on August 19, 2022.
The song is their first music in three years since the 2019 single “Coming up for Air” featuring Bardo.
This time, the band teamed up with Canadian rapper Aquakultre on the track.
The track was written by Brent Jackson and Aquakultre.
“Love is what the world needs and we want to remind people through our music that the message is just as relevant today as it was back in 1971,” the band founder Brent Jackson said. “'Got to Be Good' is just another song trying to bring forward love and positivity to the listener. Hopefully the message can spread far and wide.”
He continued, “'We've got to bring some loving here today / For our friend Marvin Gaye who'd say what's going on'. I feel sensitive to the world and often struggle with staying optimistic about our current state. I feel comfort and yet sadness to think a person like Marvin experienced feeling the same way 50 years ago. I feel it's my part as a songwriter to keep pushing a message of love and hope for our planet.”
He added, “I'm grateful that I'm able to make music with a message that's hopeful. I hope it connects with others. The world needs more positivity.”
