Meghan Trainor Announces New Album “Takin' It Back”, Shares New Song “Bad For Me” featuring Teddy Swims
- American singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor announced her new full-length studio album “Takin' It Back” would be released on October 21, 2022.
The album will be her fourth studio album, except her Christmas album last year.
The album comprises 16-track. She revealed that the album will be like a return to her debut album “Title”.
“I tried to do the doo-wop feel I had at the beginning of my career, but the 2022 version of it,” Meghan Trainor said of the album in a statement. “This is from the new Meghan, who is a wife and mom with a baby. This is from me right now. I decided to give the people what they want, but with my spices added to it. I wanted to make my Title 2.0.”
From the album, she unveiled the first single called “Bad For Me” along with a music video on June 24, 2022.
This time, she teamed up with American singer-songwriter Teddy Swims on the track.
This marks the first time Meghan Trainor and Meghan Trainor have worked together. They recorded the song in Meghan Trainor's home studio.
It was written by Meghan Trainor, Ajay Bhattacharyya and Stephen Wrabel. Produced by Stint and Frederico Vindver.
Meghan Trainor said of the song, “The song is a true story for me. It's about how I stood up for myself and took a step back from a relationship that was hurting me more than anything. It's hard to do, but I needed to in order to feel better.”
She continued, “My dad actually sent me Teddy's video for 'Broke,' and I've been so obsessed with him ever since. It's a dream to record with someone who has that good of a voice, and he's the sweetest guy ever.”
Teddy Swims said, “Absolutely honored to be putting out this song with my bestie/hero Meghan Trainor.”
