Blake Rose Drops New Live Session Video for “Demon”
Ahead of his North American tour with Norwegian singer-songwriter girl in red, Australian alt-pop singer-songwriter Blake Rose has dropped a new live session video for “Demon”.
The song was released on April 29, 2022 along with a music video directed by Logan Fields.
It was written and produced by Blake Rose. At that time, he said of the song, “'Demon' is a song about the people that make you feel like you're not good enough.”
The live video was filmed Los Angeles and directed by Neema Sadeghi, featuring Blake Rose and a 5-piece band.
He first performed the song during American singer and songwriter Ashe's tour in April before the release of the song.
“I performed 'Demon' for the first time on tour opening for Ashe in April and it was the most exhilarating experience,” Blake Rose told Consequence Sound. “I've never had that kind of reaction to an unreleased song before, which made me super excited to put it out.”
He also said about what the song was inspired by, “I've been listening to a lot of indie rock lately and I wanted to find a way to incorporate that feeling into my own music. I started this song with the intro vibe and it just grew from there. Prior to writing this song, I'd been listening to a lot of Tame Impala, in particular the song 'Eventually,' especially when that heavy instrumental section starts it hits you in the face so hard. I really wanted to infuse that kind of energy into 'Demon,' which is what the post-chorus was inspired by.”- 51RlBHagdiA
