Toronto-based singer-songwriter EMSEA has released a new song “Flakes” along with a music video.
The song is her fourth single, following “Anymore”, “Ctrl+Alt+Del” and “High”.
It was written by EMSEA and produced by Matt Kern.
EMSEA shared on social media, “At its core, Flakes' message is an empowering one about disillusionment. It can be painful to realize that you've been projecting an idealized version of reality onto someone or something. But ultimately, becoming conscious of it, sets us free. It's only when we face reality as it really is, and acknowledge the shortcomings, can we turn pain into wisdom and allow this redirection to fuel us towards the next chapter.”
She continued, “Putting this into a song really helped me embrace what I felt was a pretty tragic loss at the time, and it helped me realize that life doesn't happen to us but for us. Alright, that's enough talking for now - go take Flakes for a spin! I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do ;)”- The accompnying music video was directed by Venus Nazar.
