Adele Releases New Album “30”: Streaming
British singer-songwriter Adele released her fourth studio album “30” on November 19, 2021 via Melted Stone and Columbia Records.
The album comprises 12-track (deluxe edition 15-track), including preceding single “Easy on Me” and “Hold On” which was featured Amazon's Christmas Ad. Also, the eight track “All Night Parking” samples American jazz pianist Erroll Garner's piano play.
It is her first album in 6 years. She wrote and made the album between 2018 and 2021 with producers Greg Kurstin, Tobias Jesso Jr., Max Martin and Shellback.
“I was certainly nowhere near where I'd hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago. Quite the opposite actually,” Adele said. “I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And yet there I was knowingly -- willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!”
She continued, “I've learned a lot of blistering truths about myself along the way. I've shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. Discovered genuinely useful and wholesome mentalities to lead with, and I feel like I've finally found my feeling again. I'd go so far as to say that I've never felt more peaceful in my life... Adele told Apple Music's Zane Lowe about the album, “There were moments when I was writing these songs, and even when I was mixing them and stuff like that, where I was like, 'Maybe I don't need to put this album out,', like, 'Maybe I should write another.' Just because music is my therapy. I'm never going into the studio to be like, 'Right, I need another hit.' It's not like that for me. When something is more powerful and overwhelming [to] me, I like to go to a studio, because it's normally a basement and there's no fucking windows and no reception, so no one can get ahold of me. So I'm basically running away. And no one would've known I'd written that record. Maybe I just had to get it out of my system.”
She added, “The album is for my son, for Angelo. I knew I had to tell his story in a song because it was very clear he was feeling it, even though I thought I was doing a very good job of being like, 'Everything's fine.' But I also knew I wasn't being as present. I was just so consumed by so many different feelings. And he plucked up the courage to very articulately say to me, 'You're basically a ghost.
