First Trailer for “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” starring Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Sally Hawkins
- A first trailer for upcoming American monster film “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” was unveiled at Comic-Con.
It is a sequel to 2014's "Godzilla" and will be the third Godzilla film to be completely produced by a Hollywood studio.
The film was directed by Michael Dougherty, starring Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Ken Watanabe and Zhang Ziyi.
Originally, Gareth Edwards, 2014's "Godzilla" director, was supposed to direct the film. But he left the project in 2016, Michael Dougherty replaced him.
To date, popular creatures, such as King Ghidorah and Mothra, in Japan have not appeared on Godzilla of Hollywood version.
But this time, King Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan will appear on the film.
Legendary Entertainment announced plans to unite Godzilla and King Kong in a film titled "Godzilla vs. Kong", set for a 2020 release date.
“Godzilla: King of the Monsters” is scheduled to be released on May 31, 2019.
Michael Dougherty described the film;
"The world is reacting to Godzilla in the same way we would react to any other terrifying incident, in that we are overreacting, but there's paranoia and endless speculation about whether he is the only one out there or whether we're threatened by others like his kind."
- Legendary and Warner Bros. said of the film in a statement;
"The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species – thought to be mere myths – rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance."
