Nashville-based alt-pop band Nightly has shared a new song “the movies”.
Last year, the band released the second EP “Talk You Down” and “this time last year” in January and September, respectively. The new song follows up them.
Nightly, formerly of Dinner And A Suit, is better known for their smash “XO” in 2016. Consisting of cousins Joey Beretta (guitar) and Jonathan Capeci (vocals), who signed to Interscope Records.
The name Nightly came from the shorthand text-speak of “night, love you.” Originally from Philadelphia, the band relocated to Nashville to start taking music more seriously. “The pop scene in Nashville is really cool, because you connect and feel like you’re all doing it together,” Jonathan Capeci said.
“It’s competitive in that there are so many talented people, but it’s not cutthroat here. People aren’t trying to screw you over to get to the next thing or anything like that,” Beretta said. “There’s a broader sense of community here, and people are looking out for each other.”
The band will embark on a headline tour across the US along with THE WLDLFE and Sawyer. The tour kicks off at Mercy Lounge in Nashville on January 16th.
