Lewis Capaldi Premieres New Music Video for “Grace”
- Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has released new song “Grace” with accompanying music video.
The song is his third single of the 2018, following the previously released singles "Rush" featuring Jessie Reyez and "Tough". It was written by Nick Atkinson, Edd Holloway and Lewis Capaldi.
“’Grace’ is a song about being with someone who makes any negative shit going on in your life feel irrelevant,” Lewis Capaldi said. “There’s just something class about finding someone who can do that and I think it’s funny that the feeling of falling for someone can kind of feel like there’s a song stuck in your head that you can’t get out- like they’re this one recurring thought that you keep coming back to throughout the day. The only difference being, that having a song stuck in your head is annoying as fuck and this isn’t. I think when you do get somebody who makes you feel like that, you kind of don’t know what you were ever doing or how you felt before and that’s where the line about finding salvation in the form of your grace comes from."
The video was directed by Louis Bhose, who created funny dancing video with Lewis Capaldi alongside men on a strip club.
Lewis Capaldi explained, “For the video I wanted to do something different to what I’d usually do or what I’ve seen from other artists who are doing songs that have a similar subject matter. There are some people who are really good at doing sincere videos, and that’s cool, but it’s just not me. Despite my songs being emotional, I’m not really the serious type, so I thought it would be funny to do the most ridiculous idea imaginable!”
