- Jessie Munro Premieres New Song “Under Fire” on SoundCloud
- Last February, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Jessie Munro debuted with "If Your Eyes Could Talk", which was modern-electro pop and sophisticated sound.
In June 2018, she dropped a new song “Under Fire” via SoundCloud. The song will appear on her upcoming debut EP "On My Own", which is expected to be released this summer.
The track has rhythmic beat with guitar riffs and bass, blending '80s pop. Also, the song is inspired by Lianne La Havas.
The 23-year-old singer said of the song;
“I wrote Under Fire when I was feeling a lot of pressures from other people around me (friends and my ex). The people that you love and that love you are always going to want to be involved in your life and I’m so fortunate to have that. But I’m still young and going through some growing pains and I just wanted to make my own decisions and my own mistakes. What I love about ‘Under Fire’ is that it makes that feeling which could be heavy for some really light and doesn’t take itself too seriously”.
- Jessie Munro participated in CBC's "Over the Rainbow" in 2012 when she was at 17. Afterwards, she went to Berklee College of Music, learning Jazz and songwriting. She was influenced by artists such as Carole King, Daniel Caesar and Charlotte Day Wilson, she says "We were trying to harness old school classic sounds and marry them with modern sounds."
In 2017, she released the debut song "If Your Eyes Could Talk".
