Australian electronic producer duo Flight Facilities has delivered a new song “Need You” via SoundCloud. This time, the duo teamed up with Georgia Nott of Broods younger sister Olivia Nott, a.k.a NÏKA. The duo has collaborated with Broods on previous song "Stranded".
The song recieved its first play during Australian radio station triple j. It was written by Olivia Nott, James Lyell and Hugo Gruzman.
About the new song, Hugo Gruzman told triple j in an interview;
"Make it in the most naïve way possibly and make it really simplistic. To get back to what we did initially and see if we could recapture some of the same feelings we had when we did it. She’s actually the younger sister of Georgia [Nott] from Broods who was on ['Stranded'].
We were out with Georgia in L.A. about a year or two ago and she was on the phone to NÏKA. We needed a singer for ‘Need You’ so we just yelled it down the phone, 'Do you want to be on the track?' She’s like, 'alright send it to me'.
They’re really similar and I think there’s a third sister of theirs who is a singer as well. Apparently the roadtrips are fun watching them all harmonise. I’m yet to see it but the next goal will be to get the three of them together."-
- Flight Facilities was formed by Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell in 2009 in Sydney. Their first original song, "Crave You" written by and featuring Giselle Rosselli, received considerable airtime in Australia on the alternative music radio station Triple J in 2010.
The duo released a debut album "Down to Earth" in 2014.
In 2015, "Down to Earth" was made into a music video starring Sam Rockwell. The album was nominated for Album of the Year, Best Pop Release and Best Cover Art at the ARIA Music Awards. - source : triple j
