Dua Lipa Performs “Break My Heart” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallo At Home Edition
English singer-songwriter Dua Lipa made a guest appearance on the “At Home” edition of Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.
She performed her latest song “Break My Heart” in front of a green screen with background band's performing video from London.
The track is included on her sophomore album “Future Nostalgia”, which was released on March 27th.
Originally, the album was supposed to be released in April. But it was leaked online, she unveiled it two weeks earlier of original release date. The song sampled INXS's “Need You Tonight”.
Dua Lipa said, “This samples INXS’s 1987 “Need You Tonight,” and it’s a perfect explanation of “dance crying.” It’s about finally being in a happy place and knowing this new person is amazing. But then thinking: “Nothing else compares to this, and what if this ends and it breaks my heart?” It’s the whole thing of being scared to be too happy, like when your day is going really well and you think, “What’s the one thing that’s going to fuck it up?” I’m a hopeless romantic and always ask myself: “How am I going to protect this?” But it’s also a sweet and vulnerable place to be, because you also see how much you care. It helped that the people I wrote this with know my boyfriend, which helped me be really open.”- JS_ci6wUQ7w
