  • Matilda Releases Debut EP “Drifting By”
  • Swedish singer-songwriter Matilda Jonsson, aka Matilda released a debut EP “Drifting By” on June 29th. The EP was premiered exclusively on SheBOPS.
    The EP comprises of 5-track including the lead single "Queen" the released in May.
    Her music has some elements such as R&B, jazz and electro-pop, like Adele, Jessie Ware and OneRepublic.
    "Adele was probably my first idol, her voice was unique compared to all other pop female singers, and mine was similar to hers." she said.
    She is currently working on her debut album, which is expected to be released in the Fall.
    Also she plans to perform live in the US this year. She performed at Svartmangatan 11 in Stockholm for the EP release event on June 29th.

    She said of the EP;
    “My Drifting By EP is very personal to me. I wrote most of the songs about three years ago, during a time in my life when I felt very lost. I was learning a lot about myself and how to convey my thoughts and emotions into music, letting it inspire me. It wasn't until a year ago, when I put them next to each other that I saw the whole story come alive as an EP.
    This project is a real step towards the artist I want to be and it has helped me grow as a person and musician.
    I've worked hard to learn everything about a release by myself so this project is extra special to me."

  • Matilda Jonsson moved to the US from Stockholm at age 19, who has studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston for two years.
    Afterwards, she moved to Los Angeles and started her own music project.
    In 2017, she debuted with "Red Lips". Since then, she has released "Oh Father" and "Because of you".
    Recently, she joined in New York-based producer Lucian's "Can't Do Better" as guest vocals.
