- Opposite The Other Premieres New Song “My Body Moves”
- Cape Town-based alt-pop trio Opposite The Other has released a new song "My Body Moves". The song is taken from their upcoming debut EP, which is expected to be released later in 2017. The track is radio-friendly Synth-pop sound.
On May 10th, the band dropped the music video for "My Body Moves" directed by Robin Adams. The video reminds us of 2014's film "Frank"
Opposite The Other was formed by Sam Burger, Dan Burger and Rob Spooner in 2015. The trio released a debut song "Ride Away" in January 2016. Followed by, the second single "Stutter Love" was released in February. In 2017, the band toured along with American folk rock band The Lumineers.
The trio plans to embark their first full South African tour this year.
About the new song, Dan Burger said;
"On the surface, the song is about the concept of losing all inhibition and dancing through this imperfect life. When looked at a little deeper, this song is actually to a degree questioning how often ‘losing all inhibition’ and ‘dancing’ doesn’t always help us through the truly tough times. Life is tough, it can be a struggle and instead of trying to do it on our own we should perhaps be looking elsewhere for help. The song represents the feeling of just dancing but lyrically reflects on perhaps the alternatives options when seeking peace."
