Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) finished 3rd in a row, following Portuguese GP and Spanish GP.
Local heroes Fabio Quartararo (Monster Yamaha) and Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) were unable to mark their home GP with a podium, as they had to settle for fourth and fifth.

Enea Bastianini passed Jack Miller on lap 12, and Francesco Bagnaia on lap 21, and moved up to top. But Francesco Bagnaia crashed out on lap 21, Aleix Espargaro moved up to 3rd.
Finally, Enea Bastianini kept top position and reached the chequered flag.

Enea Bastianini said, “I'm really happy with this race because this victory is unexpected. During the race I saw that my rhythm was really good.”
Jack Miller said, "He (Enea Bastianini)'s done it plenty of times. He's always strong at the end of the race, he's got a good drive, he's good on the tyres and he worked it well today. He made a perfect race I think. We could have had a Ducati 1-2-3, but it wasn't to be.”
Aleix Espargaro said, “I knew Fabio was behind me but I knew it was difficult for him to overtake me. The race was about not making mistakes. It was a very difficult race, the most difficult of the season so far.”
