Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Artikal Sound System Releases New Music Video for “You're An Asshole”
South Florida based reggae-rock band Artikal Sound System, consisting of Chris Montague (guitar) and Fabian Acuña (bass), Christopher Cope (keyboard), Adam Kampf (drums) and Logan Rex (vocals), has dropped a new music video for “You're An Asshole”.
The song was released from their upcoming debut album back in September. The video was directed by Casey Pierce.
“The day I started writing this song I had met up for coffee with this guy I had dated for nearly ten years,” Logan Rex said of the song. “I was sort of reflecting on everything he and I had been through together and was getting pretty fired up about it.”
She continued, “The hook and main melody just started coming out while I was singing in the shower. I got over to Chris Montague's house as soon as I could to finish it up and the boy's parts seemed to write themselves after that. This one felt pretty effortless because it felt like I was just jotting down feelings in my diary.”
She added, “As far as naming the song, I think most people who've met my ex would feel like it's a pretty fitting title.”
The band worked with the renowned reggae-rock producer Danny Kalb for the album. They recorded at both Chris Montague’s home studio Oceanside Audio in Boynton Beach, at the band’s good friend Dean Fishback’s studio Seven Hills in Lauderhill.- source : YouTube
