Billie Eilish Performs “i love you” & “bad guy” on Saturday Night Live
- American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish appeared on Saturday Night Live to perform “i love you” and “bad guy”.
This marks her musical guest debut on the sketch show. She played the songs with her brother and singer-songwriter FINNEAS.
Both songs are included on her debut album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”, which was released back in March and reached No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 and the UK Albums chart.
“bad guy” was released as fifth single of the album and reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. She said of the song success, "What’s funny about it is I actually thought it would flop… because the chorus doesn’t have a hook – at least what we wrote as the chorus. Because the chorus is [hums synth riff of “Bad Guy”]. My brother and I actually sat in his room trying to write something else over that but we couldn’t do it because nothing else worked. [We didn’t] want it to be empty there, but we were just like, “I don’t know if anyone’s going to like this, because there’s no lyrics here.” For some reason people do like it and it’s huge now. It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever made. It’s my favorite to perform, it’s so fun. I’m so proud of that song."
At 4 minutes and 52 seconds, “i love you” is the longest track of her discography. She said, “still one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written in my life.”
