Chris Lanzon Releases New Song “Technicolo(u)r”
Sydney-based indie-folk singer-songwriter Chris Lanzon released a new song “Technicolo(u)r” on June 27, 2024.
The song is the follow-up to “Lilo”, which was released last month.
Both songs will appear on his upcoming EP, which is expected to be released in 2024.
The track portrays the whimsical nature of infatuation, where every small gesture and moment feels laden with significance.
He conveys the sensation of seeing the world through the eyes of another, painting a picture of a love that feels destined yet teetering on the edge of reality.
The track was written by Chris Lanzon and Oliver Beard.
Chris Lanzon said of the song, “Technicolo(u)r is an exploration of infatuation. It's about noticing the smallest details when you're falling in love—the desire to know everything about someone and to see the world through their eyes. It's about following universal signs and feeling everything fall into place. It's also slightly delusional-feeling connected to somebody without actually knowing them. I think we've all experienced that odd sense of seeing someone's life online, admiring them from afar, and they start to feel familiar, like a friend, even if you've never met. This concept fascinates me; it can be both beautiful and disturbing. Technicolo(u)r encapsulates all of that.”- He added, “The parenthesis in the title was suggested by a fan during a live stream when I played the song. I mentioned my concern about the varied spelling of ‘Technicolour’ in British and American English, and they suggested adding the (u). I thought it was brilliant, as it gives the title a double meaning-highlighting the U (You), tying into the song’s obsession with this second-person figure.”
