British singer-songwriter Paloma Faith appeared on BBC Radio 2 Piano Room to perform “Sweatpants” featuring BBC Concert Orchestra.
The song is featured on her sixth studio album “The Glorification of Sadness”, which was released on February 16, 2024 via Sony Music and RCA Records.
The album is her first release after she was divorced and is first LP in four years since the 2020 album “Infinite Things”.
The track was written by Clarence Coffee Jr.Evan Blair, and Paloma Faith. Produced by Martin Wave and TommyD.
Paloma Faith told Apple Music about the song, “I have felt this is quite a feminist album. It was important to me to get the line 'when I'm old and no longer young' in. I'm writing from a perspective of 15 years in the music business. It's quite rare nowadays for female artists to have a lifetime career and [to] age in front of a public. I think there's a lot of pressure on women. That line is very considered-but obviously everyone can relate to the sweatpants. We're just Netflix and chilling with our partners and we don't look as great as we used to.”- source : BBC Radio 2
