Scottish singer-songwriter archie released a new song “Olivia” on February 16, 2024.
The song is the second single since the 2023 cover EP “Covers”, following the release of “Mayalyn” last September.
The inspiration for the track sprouted from the freshness of a first date post-breakup.
He uses his authentic Scottish accent in this track adds a personal touch, grounding the narrative in the familiar streets of Glasgow, his hometown.
The track was written and produced by Archie Collingridge Watt and Citizen Papes.
archie told Tits Upon Tyne about the song in an interview, “This song was originated from a solo writing session where I sat and wrote the song and produced a rough demo of it. After sitting on it for about 6 months took it to my producer / best friend Citizen Papes to work on it together. That summer I flew down to his studio in Cornwall where we worked on it for a couple days alongside going surfing in our lunch breaks! We spent the time finishing off the production and also wrote a bridge for the song together as it didn’t originally have one.”- Photo by Heather Rodger
