YUNGBLUD Performs “Happier” & Kenya Grace's “Strangers” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
British singer-songwriter YUNGBLUD appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge extra to perform his newest song “Happier” and a cover of British singer-songwriter Kenya Grace's “Strangers”.
BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge will air a new performance every Monday through Thursday for the entirety of October.
This marks the fourth time YUNGBLUD has been the musical guest on the program, following 2019, 2020 and 2022.
YUNGBLUD said of the stage, “This is manual like I have stood on this stage when I was like since I was like 13 years old and like dreamt about this kind of thing like.”
“Happier” was released on October 18. YUNGBLUD teamed up with Oli Sykes of British rock band Bring Me The Horizon on the track.
This time, he performed the song as solo. He said before performing, “Oli is in Japan. I think he's on right now. See in a couple days.”
YUNGBLUD said of the song, “I have always felt that if I'm happy I'll get complacent so it's lost me a lot of opportunity for friendships and relationships in the past. I got really emotional when writing this. I was craving another Yungblud song that would burn in my stomach, make me feel like it's all gonna be ok and encourage me to fight back against old habits and try my best to re-align myself to be better. It's ok to find happiness, it's ok to feel it.”
“Strangers” was released by Kenya Grace last month. It is her major-label debut single.
The song reached No. 1 on the UK Singles chart and becoming a top-ten hit in several countries.
