Jelani Blackman Premieres New Song “Rise” featuring Biig Piig on BBC Radio 1
London-based rapper Jelani Blackman premiered a new song “Rise” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
This time, he teamed up with Irish singer-songwriter Biig Piig on the track.
This marks the first collaboration between Jelani Blackman and Biig Piig.
The track was written by Daniel Jelani Sie-Blackman, Jacob Oliver Manson, and Jess Smyth.
Jelani Blackman said of the song, “Being in love and waking up next to the person you wanna be with and the sun’s out is one of the best feelings in the world. Couldn’t have asked anyone better to share this song with; me and Biig Piig met last year at a festival, I think her voice and lyrics bring out all the feeling of that emotion.”
Biig Piig added, “This song really captures a moment in time, when you’re with someone and love is so intense, it’s like the golden hour all the time”.
- Jelani Blackman told Clara Amfo about the song, “So it's like a special time that I've already feel doesn't get highlighted enough. It's like that time when you wake up in the morning and the sun's coming in beautiful time. And I really followed there needs to be someone on fit there. I directly presented that on phone, and followed that. And it's just so perfect.”
Biig Piig continued, “I kind of felt like you had a lot of the feeling already lined out. I came in and I just kind of felt it and I was like, 'Okay, this makes complete sense', and my first time on it, but it just felt like what you captivated this is after the golden hour. I was just like this kind of warm, nostalgic feeling.”
